When to Consider Replacing a Hot Water Heater
Did you know: traditional hot water heaters only last for 10-13 years!? If your home is a bit older, you might consider checking to see how old your hot water heater is. This can typically be done by decoding the serial number that is placed on the tank. If your water heater is approaching 13 years old, it could be a good idea to begin to look for replacements. Even if the appliance is running well, preparing for a new one will likely serve you well.
Aside from the age of the unit, if you have a large amount of sediment in the tank that causes noises or if you see rust, a new water heater may be needed. Also, if you have puddles of water around the tank, definitely call us and think about replacing, not repairing the unit.
